Maintenance Advisor
Wilride Transport Ltd. is looking for a Maintenance Advisor to support our Southwestern Ontario trucking company. We have been in business more than 30 years, and have approximately 150 pieces of equipment (trucks and trailers).
Responsibilities include advising on and assisting with supervising and managing fleet maintenance, repairs, and emergency situations.
We have an established and comprehensive maintenance program to ensure safe operations.
Duties include advising on and assisting with the following:
- Ensuring equipment reliability, availability, safety, and compliance with government regulations
- Road repairs and emergency breakdowns (we use a third-party service for this activity)
- Maintenance schedules, including scheduled PM’s
- Third-party maintenance services
- Working with operations teams to ensure equipment up time
Qualifications and compensation:
- At least five years’ experience in fleet maintenance or related
- Suitable training and education; mechanic experience/training an asset
- Solid knowledge of truck/trailer operations, maintenance and repairs
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant transportation regulations
- Experience with fleet maintenance software would be an asset
- Good communication and organizational skills, and a collaborative working demeanor
- This can be a full-time or part-time position, depending on skills and experience
- Compensation is subject to negotiation, depending on experience and education, and time involved
