Job Posting: Route Engineering Specialist for Submarine Fibre Optic Cable Projects
IT International Telecom, a leading Canadian company specializing in the installation of submarine fibre optic cable systems worldwide, is seeking a dedicated and motivated Route Engineering Specialist to join our team.
This role provides support to the survey department with respect to the execution of the Route Engineering component of desktop studies, marine route surveys, and cable installation projects.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for route engineering of submarine cable systems at the bid, desktop study and final route engineering project phases
- Production of route position lists and straight line diagrams
- Draft concise route engineering reports
- Support the production and QC of As-laid RPLs and final reporting
- Articulate routing and system design decisions to clients and other stakeholders through presentation or regular meetings
- Assist with other departmental needs as required
Requirements:
- University degree or technical diploma, preferably in or related, and a minimum of two years of experience in an industry-related field
- Experience in submarine cable route engineering
- Experience with marine geospatial data types and their associated file formats
- Experience in marine geophysical and geotechnical surveys
- MakaiPlan experience is considered an asset
- Experience with burial assessments is considered an asset
- Ability to draft, read, comprehend and interpret technical specifications
- Ability to draft clear, complete and concise reporting documents
- Excellent communication skills required, both written and verbal
- MS Office experience required
