Duties and Responsibilities
-
Promote a positive team environment through motivation, effective communication, and proactive problem-solving skills
- Effectively lead and be responsible for a crew of two to four members to construct enhancement projects from reading plans and drawings to final touches

Provide guidance and a steady work-pace to the crew
- Actively participate in the completion of the daily work schedule

Perform various landscaping tasks (lawn care, pruning, bed work, planting, mulching, etc.)

Operate and drive work trucks and trailers as required
- Operate power equipment including, but not limited to, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, sod cutters and chain saws

Provide friendly, helpful, and professional customer service to clients as required by supervisor
- Ensure all Health & Safety and Clintar policies and procedures are consistently followed

Work outdoors in extreme heat and cold winter conditions
- Enter and maintain crew timesheets

Conduct daily inspections of assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment and report any issues, damages, etc.
Qualifications
-
Minimum two to four years of practical experience in a crew leader role for softscaping and landscape maintenance. Hardscape experience an asset

One to two years of garden maintenance experience – cultivating, edging, pruning, dead heading, etc.
- One or more years of experience in grass cutting and trimming
- Basic plant identification and care knowledge
- Valid G driver’s license required

Experienced with driving truck and trailer

Level 1 First Aid an asset

Horticulture diploma an asset
- Pesticide licence an asset

Strong oral and written communication skills
- Punctual, trustworthy, and reliable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality, timely results with minimal supervision

- Highly motivated and passionate about the business
Physical Demands / Work Environment

Frequently lift/or move up to twenty-five pounds and occasionally lift/or move up to fifty pounds

Physically fit and able to work on feet, bend down and/or crouch for long periods of time
- Physically fit and able to work through warm temperatures and long hours when necessary
- Physically fit and able to perform repetitive tasks
- Frequently work in outside weather conditions. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals

Noise level in the work environment is moderate
- Hearing protection and all other PPE must be worn in accordance with regulations
