We are a fast-paced structural steel detailing company specializing in commercial, industrial, and miscellaneous steel projects. We use advanced 3D modeling and automated drawing workflows to deliver accurate, fabrication-ready models and shop drawings on aggressive schedules.
We are looking for an experienced Tekla Steel Detailer who can work independently, communicate professionally with fabricators and engineers, and help keep projects moving efficiently.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for structural steel modeling, connection detailing, erection drawings, and shop drawings using Tekla Structures. The role involves coordination with engineers, fabricators, project managers, and internal checking staff to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Create accurate 3D structural steel models in Tekla Structures
- Produce fabrication shop drawings and erection drawings
- Interpret structural and architectural contract documents
- Coordinate RFIs and resolve design/detailing issues
- Apply client and fabrication standards
- Model and detail:
- Structural steel
- Miscellaneous metals
- Stairs and railings
- HSS, plate, and connection details
- Maintain drawing schedules and meet deadlines
- Coordinate revisions and approval comments efficiently
- Work closely with project management and checking staff
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years experience in structural steel detailing
- Strong proficiency in Tekla Structures
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection practices
- Ability to read structural and architectural drawings
- Knowledge of CISC/AISC standards considered an asset
- Experience with connection detailing preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
