Carluke Orchards is a family owned farm and bakery market in Ancaster, ON. We have been in operation since 1965 as a pick your own apple orchard and pie shop.
**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a dedicated Bakery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and production of baked goods while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. We offer paid training as needed, staff discounts on product, and casual comfortable work environment. Expected workdays would be Tuesday-Saturday, some Sundays may be required.
- Assist in baking and preparing various bakery items
- Follow recipes and adhere to food safety standards
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting patrons with bakery product inquiries
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and tools
- Handle food products with care to ensure quality and freshness
- Operate kitchen equipment
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
- Handle basic cashiering duties using a POS system
**Experience:**
- Previous experience in a bakery or kitchen environment preferred
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety regulations preferred
- Strong customer service skills to interact with bakery customers
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and transactions
- Familiarity with cashiering procedures is beneficial
- Reliable personal transportation required, we are not accessible by public transportation
