Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Manager of Quality Control to lead our quality assurance initiatives across our operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of quality control, ensuring products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement, foster a culture of excellence, and ensure that quality management processes are seamlessly integrated into daily operations. Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead and manage the company’s quality control program for aggregate and concrete products.
- Supervise, train, and support quality control personnel, including assigning work and monitoring performance.
- Ensure aggregate and concrete products are sampled and tested in accordance with company procedures, CSA standards, project specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the proper operation, calibration, maintenance, and documentation of laboratory and field-testing equipment.
- Review and analyze test results, identify quality trends, and initiate corrective actions when products do not meet specifications.
- Work closely with production teams to troubleshoot quality concerns, optimize product performance, and maintain consistency.
- Support sales personnel by providing technical data, product information, and guidance related to product applications and specifications.
- Maintain accurate quality control records, test reports, certifications, and other required documentation.
- Investigate customer quality concerns and coordinate timely corrective and preventive actions.
- Promote a strong culture of quality, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Assist with product development, mix optimization, and evaluation of raw materials as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
- Previous quality control experience in the aggregate, concrete, or construction materials industry is required.
- Prior supervisory or people-management experience is preferred.
- ACI certification is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of CSA standards and testing procedures applicable to aggregate and concrete products.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to interpret test results, specifications, and technical documents.
- Strong organizational, communication, and recordkeeping skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Valid G-class driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Ability to safely operate a pickup truck and travel to company facilities, customer locations, and job sites as required.
- Ability to perform field sampling and testing activities in varying weather and site conditions.
