Wheel Painter / Rim Refinishing Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Wheel Painter / Rim Refinishing Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive refinishing, powder coating, or metal fabrication and take pride in producing high-quality work. Candidates with transferable skills from powder coating, TIG welding, machining, or other metal finishing trades are encouraged to apply if they are confident they can learn and perform the job.
Responsibilities
- Inspect wheels/rims before refinishing to determine required repairs and preparation.
- Prepare wheels by cleaning, sanding, masking, and surface preparation.
- Apply primer, base coat, and clear coat using spray-painting equipment.
- Blend, polish, and finish painted wheels to a factory-quality appearance.
- Operate spray guns, power tools, and other refinishing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform quality inspections on completed work.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow company procedures and workplace safety standards.
- Record completed work and communicate job progress with the team.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (automotive or trades training is an asset).
- Minimum 1 years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Wheel repair or wheel refinishing
- Automotive painting or body repair
- Powder coating
- TIG welding
- Machining or metal fabrication
- Experience using spray-painting equipment and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and scheduling.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Experience
- Wheel repair or rim refinishing.
- Automotive paint preparation, masking, sanding, and polishing.
- Powder coating, TIG welding, machining, or related metal finishing experience.
Applicants with experience in powder coating, TIG welding, machining, or similar skilled trades are encouraged to apply if they believe they have the skills and aptitude to perform wheel refinishing work. Training may be provided to the right candidate.

Pay: $16.00-$25.00 per hour
