Position: Human Resources Director
Department: Administration
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
Blue Sky Opportunities, a non-profit agency providing supports for adults living with cognitive and physical limitations is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Executive Director.
The HR Director will provide strategic and operational leadership across all areas of Human Resources, with a strong focus on employee development, work place health and safety and continued organizational change. This role is well-suited to an HR leader who is passionate about mission-driven work with tangible community impact while maintaining a people-first approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall HR function, including staffing, strategy, operations and team leadership
- Oversee the health and safety program
- Review, develop and implement HR policies and procedures
- Provide leadership in employee development and relations
- Administrative functions such as data input, benefit enrollment, file maintenance
- Drive employee communication, engagement and support initiatives
- Coordinate and track training, development and learning programs
- Lead and support change management, continuous improvement and process enhancement initiatives
- Work closely with the executive director providing information and supporting decisions
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience in non-profit, social services, health care and community-based organizations is preferred
- Post secondary education in human resources with CPHR or candidate status working toward certification
- Minimum 2 years generalist experience
- Experience with health and safety programs
- Experience supporting shift based and frontline workforce
- Demonstrated success in change management and organizational development
- High level of emotional intelligence and sound judgement
- Supportive, dedicated, non-judgmental with a desire to see people succeed
- Passion for people centered work
- Collaborative leadership style with strong communication skills
- Willing to respond to agency needs outside of regular working hours
