Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Asphalt Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with paving and other asphalt-related tasks on various construction sites. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, reliable, and eager to contribute to high-quality infrastructure projects. Prior experience in heavy equipment operation and construction is a plus but not mandatory, as training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in paving and construction while working in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and cleanup of construction sites for asphalt paving projects
- Operate heavy equipment such as rollers, skid steers, or loaders under supervision
- Help with the laying and spreading of asphalt materials according to project specifications
- Maintain safety standards and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Support team members in setting up work zones, traffic control, and material handling
- Perform general labor tasks including shoveling, lifting, and transporting materials as needed
- Collaborate with supervisors to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety protocols
Experience
- Previous experience in paving, heavy equipment operation, or general construction is preferred but not required
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor for extended periods
- Willingness to learn new skills related to asphalt paving and construction processes
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are advantageous but not mandatory
