Senior Project Manager – Technology & Business Projects
Location: Ottawa, ON – Hybrid, with regular onsite attendance required
Job Type: Fixed-term contract
Contract Term: August 2026 to December 31, 2026, with possible extension
Compensation: $50–$60 per hour, based on experience and engagement structure
Hours: Approximately 37.5 hours per week
Position Overview
Aeolus Staffing Solutions is recruiting an experienced Senior Project Manager for a short-term assignment with a well-established Canadian Crown corporation.
The Senior Project Manager will lead multiple business and technology initiatives from planning through implementation and closeout. This position requires someone who can quickly enter an established environment, take ownership of assigned projects, and work effectively with business leaders, technical teams, vendors, executives and the corporate Project Management Office.
The successful candidate will have practical experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, issues, dependencies and organizational change. This is a hands-on delivery position requiring sound judgment, strong communication and the ability to manage several priorities simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects through initiation, planning, execution, implementation and closeout.
- Develop and maintain project charters, delivery plans, schedules, budgets and resource plans.
- Monitor scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues and financial performance.
- Coordinate business, technology, security, operational and vendor stakeholders.
- Prepare concise project updates, dashboards, recommendations and presentations for senior leadership.
- Facilitate project meetings, governance reviews and decision-making sessions.
- Manage project changes and assess their impact on scope, cost, schedule and resources.
- Support procurement activities and manage vendor deliverables and performance.
- Coordinate organizational-change, communication, training and operational-readiness activities.
- Apply Agile, waterfall or hybrid delivery approaches based on project needs.
- Ensure projects follow established PMO, security, confidentiality and documentation standards.
Required Qualifications
- Approximately 7 or more years of progressive project-management experience.
- Demonstrated experience independently leading complex business or technology projects.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects or major workstreams.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk management and executive reporting.
- Experience working with cross-functional business, technical and vendor teams.
- Practical experience using Agile and waterfall delivery methods.
- Strong written, verbal, facilitation and stakeholder-management skills.
- Proficiency with common project-management and collaboration tools.
- Ability to work onsite in Ottawa regularly, potentially three to five days per week depending on project requirements.
- Eligible to undergo the required Canadian security-screening process.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PRINCE2 or comparable project-management certification.
- Previous experience in a Crown corporation, regulated organization, financial institution or public-sector environment.
- Experience with enterprise technology, ERP, cybersecurity, infrastructure, business transformation or process-improvement projects.
- Experience working within a formal PMO or structured governance environment.
- Active or previously held Government of Canada Secret security clearance.
- English/French bilingualism is considered an asset.

This assignment is best suited to a hands-on Senior Project Manager who is available to begin quickly and is comfortable with a short initial contract. Candidates must be able to satisfy the client’s security and confidentiality requirements.
