Lightenco Electrical Contractors (LEC) is a growing electrical contracting company specializing in commercial, industrial, and EV charging infrastructure projects throughout Ontario. Our team combines strong field expertise with practical project management to deliver high-quality work safely, on time, and on budget.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Electrical Project Coordinator to support our operations team, field supervisors, and company leadership.
Critical Requirements
The Electrical Project Coordinator plays a key role in keeping projects organized and moving efficiently from award to completion. This position supports project managers, lead electricians, and ownership with procurement, permit applications, scheduling, invoicing, document control, and general administrative coordination.
The ideal candidate has construction industry experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
A successful candidate will possess the following critical requirements:
- Excellent organizational skills – “Good” won’t be good enough, you need to be excellent at this in order to succeed
- 3 or more years direct experience playing a similar role in a trades or construction-related business
- Proactive communication and problem-solving skills
Competencies
Succeeding in this role will require that you are competent in the following activities:
Material Procurement & Purchasing
· Review project drawings, estimates, and material lists.
· Prepare and issue purchase orders to suppliers.
· Request and compare supplier quotations.
· Track deliveries and backorders.
· Coordinate with field staff to ensure materials arrive on time.
· Resolve shortages and procurement issues.
Permits & Inspections
· Submit permits through the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) portal.
· Coordinate utility locates.
· Schedule inspections.
· Track permit and inspection statuses.
· Maintain permit documentation.
Scheduling & Project Coordination
· Coordinate with our partner organizations to maintain strong working relationships
· Assist with manpower and project scheduling.
· Coordinate equipment rentals (lifts, trenchers, generators, etc.).
· Schedule subcontractors and vendors.
· Track project milestones and deadlines.
· Communicate schedule updates to internal teams.
Financial Administration
· Prepare and issue customer invoices.
· Match supplier invoices to purchase orders.
· Track project costs and budget updates.
· Assist with change order preparation.
· Monitor outstanding accounts receivable information.
Document Control
· Organize project folders and documentation.
· Maintain drawings, specifications, and revisions.
· Track RFIs, submittals, and closeout documents.
· Compile warranties and operation manuals.
General Administrative Support
· Prepare meeting notes and action lists.
· Assist with tender submissions and proposals.
· Support company leadership with special projects and administrative tasks.
What You Need to Succeed
Skills
- Ability to review project drawings to identify / confirm project requirements
- Ability to schedule and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Office and SharePoint
Experience
· 3+ years of experience in project coordination, construction administration, or a similar role
· Experience in the electrical or mechanical contracting industry.
· Familiarity with project management software.
· Experience with BrightSafe, SiteDocs or similar safety/documentation platforms.

Pay: $50,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
