Big Erics Service is Atlantic Canada’s trusted provider of commercial foodservice, laundry, janitorial, and concession equipment sales and service. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Service Electrical Technician / Journeyperson Electrician to join our growing team.
This role is ideal for a certified electrician who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and working independently in a fast-paced environment. In addition to electrical troubleshooting and installations, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of commercial foodservice and laundry equipment for customers throughout the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial foodservice, concession, janitorial, and laundry equipment
- Perform electrical installations, upgrades, and repairs in accordance with applicable electrical codes and manufacturer specifications
- Install and commission commercial equipment at customer locations
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Troubleshoot electrical control systems, motors, relays, heating systems, and related components
- Perform preventive maintenance and identify potential equipment issues before failure
- Communicate repair options and recommendations clearly with customers
- Complete service reports accurately, including labour, materials, and diagnostic findings
- Source replacement parts and coordinate with manufacturer technical support when required
- Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with OH&S regulations and industry standards
- Provide customers with guidance on proper equipment operation and maintenance
- Travel throughout the Maritimes and Newfoundland for service calls, installations, and training as required
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory
- Represent Big Erics professionally and deliver outstanding customer service at all times
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Journeyperson Electrician Certification (Red Seal preferred)
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
- Experience servicing commercial foodservice or laundry equipment considered a strong asset
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Knowledge of commercial electrical systems, controls, and equipment installations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, customer service, and computer skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working overtime, weekends, and participating in an on-call rotation as required
- Willingness to travel for work and manufacturer training
- Confined Space, WHMIS, Fall Arrest, or related safety certifications are considered assets
