Job Summary
We are seeking reliable and hardworking Roofing Labourers to join our roofing team. This role involves assisting with roofing projects, supporting skilled tradespeople, and ensuring the successful completion of roofing installations and repairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a willingness to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment. Prior Laborer or roofing experience is a plus, but we provide training for the right candidates.
Duties
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems using various hand tools and equipment
- Load and unload materials such as shingles, plywood, and other roofing supplies
- Perform heavy lifting tasks to move materials and equipment safely around the job site
- Read and interpret blueprints and project plans to ensure accurate installation
- Use caulking tools to seal joints and prevent leaks as needed
- Support carpenters and other tradespeople with framing, cutting, and fitting materials
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow safety protocols at all times to minimize hazards on the job site
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools commonly used in roofing and construction work
- Previous construction or handyman experience is preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and understand construction plans
- Knowledge of carpentry techniques relevant to roofing projects
- Experience with caulking for sealing applications
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds or more)
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Basic understanding of safety procedures related to construction sites
