Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Pacific Cove Properties is a BC-owned and operated property management company providing rental accommodation to almost 3000 families and individuals in communities throughout British Columbia, including Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, Vancouver Island, and the Okanagan.
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our residential maintenance team in Victoria, British Columbia. Supporting two residential rental properties, this hands-on role is responsible for maintaining the overall condition of our buildings, responding to resident concerns, and completing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks that contribute to a safe and well-maintained living environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- General building maintenance and repair work
- Grounds maintenance and minor repair work.
- General labour work as assigned by the property and resident management team, including loading, unloading, moving materials and supporting property maintenance activities as required.
- Painting and drywall patching.
- Replacing light bulbs/lamps, cleaning fixtures, and moving furniture.
- Responding quickly to emergency situations and resident concerns.
- Monitoring landscaping, common area and parking facilities.
- Performing some janitorial duties as needed.
- Complying with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives as related to building operations and practices safe work practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skillsets:
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in maintenance work.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and communicate effectively with residents, contractors, and team members
- Ability to respond to priority and emergency situations as required.
- Willingness to participate in shift work and/or on-call duties as required.
- Pass criminal background requirements.
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in facilities and building maintenance or relevant experience
