Position summary
Department / Research Program: BRILLIANT Lab
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre is seeking a Project Manager to support interdisciplinary research initiatives within the BRILLIANT Lab focused on digital health innovation, patient-oriented research, rehabilitation, and health system transformation. The incumbent will coordinate research activities across clinical, academic, and community partners, supporting qualitative and mixed-methods projects, stakeholder engagement, project operations, and knowledge mobilization activities. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as experience working in collaborative healthcare, research, or digital health environments.
General Duties
PROJECT PLANNING & COORDINATION
- Support and coordinate day-to-day operations of research projects and strategic initiatives.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Track project progress and identify risks, delays, or resource constraints.
- Facilitate internal and external meetings, prepare agendas, document action items, and follow up on deliverables.
- Support cross-functional collaboration among researchers, clinical teams, and external partners.
RESEARCH ADMINISTRATION
- Assist with grant and funding application coordination, including timelines and submission requirements.
- Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and reporting obligations in collaboration with the finance team.
- Ensure projects comply with institutional policies, ethics requirements, regulatory standards, and sponsor guidelines.
- Coordinate reporting for funding agencies, institutional leadership, and stakeholders.
STAKEHOLDER AND TEAM COMMUNICATION
- Serve as a liaison between investigators, research staff, administrative departments, and external collaborators.
- Prepare presentations, reports, dashboards, and project updates for leadership and sponsors.
- Support onboarding and coordination of project personnel, trainees, or collaborators.
- Support knowledge mobilization, dissemination, and patient engagement activities related to ongoing research initiatives.
OPERATIONAL & STRATEGIC SUPPORT
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies within the lab.
- Support strategic planning activities, partnership development, and research program expansion.
- Maintain organized documentation and records related to research activities and project management.

Education / Experience
Education: Master's Degree
Field of Study: health sciences, rehabilitation sciences, public health, social sciences, psychology, health services research, or a related field
Other education considered an asset for this position: Bachelor’s degree combined with 5+ years of relevant experience in academic, healthcare, research, or digital health project management.
Work Experience:
REQUIRED:
- Experience supporting or coordinating qualitative and/or mixed-methods research, including interviews, focus groups, co-design workshops, thematic analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of digital health research, health innovation, or technology-enabled models of care.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with researchers, clinicians, patients, community partners, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience coordinating multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced research setting.
PREFERRED
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: o rehabilitation research
o person-centered care
o health systems transformation
o care transitions and integrated care
o equity-oriented health research
o patient engagement and co-design
o implementation science
o living labs or learning health systems
- Experience supporting grant-funded research programs and knowledge mobilization activities.
• Understanding of ethical and regulatory considerations in health research. •
- Experience supporting research publications, reports, manuscripts, and knowledge dissemination activities.
Required Skills
- Advanced knowledge of oral and written French is required.
- An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires complex writing or in-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.
Additional information
Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)
Pay Scale: $57,093.40 per year
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
Work Site: 5252 de Maisonneuve Blvd.
- This position offers the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement (on-site and remote).
- This position requires to work on several sites.
