School Sports Instructor — Casual/Part‑Time
Location: Calgary & Surrounding Areas
Schedule: Weekdays during school hours (dates provided well in advance)
Netball Alberta is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable School Sports Instructor to deliver introductory netball clinics in schools across the province as the Assistant Coach. This role focuses on providing fun, engaging instruction that introduces students to the sport while supporting the growth of netball in Alberta. In addition to on‑court instruction, the position includes light administrative and development‑focused tasks that contribute to the long‑term success of our school programs.
About you:
- Act as Second Coach to deliver beginner‑level netball clinics to students during school hours (Monday–Friday).
- Teach basic rules, skills, and gameplay in an energetic, inclusive, and age‑appropriate manner.
- Represent Netball Alberta professionally while engaging with teachers, school staff, and students.
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry, information sorting, and organizing program materials.
- Assist with research related to program development, school partnerships, and future collaboration opportunities.
- Contribute to policy review and updates that support safe, consistent, and effective program delivery.
- Clinics are primarily in Calgary, with rare travel to other Alberta communities.
- Additional hours may be available outside clinic delivery for administrative or development work.
Required Attributes:
- Vulnerable Sector Check (can be completed after offer).
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Vehicle in good working order with capacity to carry collapsible netball posts and equipment bag.
- Availability during school hours on scheduled clinic days.
Preferred Attributes:
- Working with a volunteer board, or with a minor sports association.
- Coaching accreditation with experience in youth programming.
- Current First Aid certification (can be completed after offer).
- Availability during evenings and weekends for adhoc clinics and community involvement.
