Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Construction Labourer to join our residential construction team in the Gilmour and Bancroft area. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on construction experience, a solid work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a crew. This role involves assisting with all phases of residential construction while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of residential construction tasks including framing, finishing, demolition, general carpentry, and site preparation
- Assist with the construction of new homes, renovations, and other residential projects
- Read and follow construction drawings, plans, and instructions from supervisors
- Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely
- Load, unload, and organize materials and equipment on site
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, team members, subcontractors, and suppliers as required
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently while meeting quality standards and project timelines
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in residential construction
- Strong hands-on experience with general carpentry and multiple phases of residential construction
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings is considered an asset
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Work Environment
- Projects located within approximately a 1-hour radius of Bancroft
- Mix of new builds, renovations, and general residential construction work
- Outdoor and physically demanding work environment
- Lifting of heavy materials and handling included
- Heavy duty equipment use is an asset, or open to learning them
