Position Overview
We are currently seeking one experienced Class 1 Semi-Truck Driver to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating walking-floor trailers and container chassis to transport materials safely and efficiently. This position requires a dependable and safety-conscious driver who is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate semi-trucks with walking-floor trailers and container chassis
- Transport waste and recyclable materials safely and efficiently
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
- Complete driver logbooks, trip reports, inspection reports, and accident or incident reports
- Ensure loads are properly secured and transported in compliance with applicable regulations
- Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, delays, and incidents promptly
- Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of assigned equipment
- Follow company safety procedures and transportation requirements
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers, site personnel, and other drivers
Required Qualifications
- Valid British Columbia Class 1 Driver’s Licence
- Valid Air Brake Endorsement
- Minimum of three years of experience operating walking-floor trailers and container chassis
- Experience operating manual-transmission trucks
- Clean driving record
- Ability to provide a current “N” Commercial Driving Record/Driver’s Abstract
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test
- Ability to pass a medical examination
- Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle inspections, driver logbooks, trip reports, and accident or incident reporting procedures
