Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated HVAC Apprentice to join our team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning industry, providing an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills in mechanical systems and building maintenance. The HVAC Apprentice will work closely with experienced technicians to learn essential trade skills, including installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC systems. Candidates should have a strong interest in construction, mechanical work, and technical problem-solving. Prior experience in plumbing, welding, boiler systems, or appliance repair is a plus but not required; a willingness to learn and grow within the field is essential.
Duties
- Assist senior technicians with installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems in residential and commercial settings
- Learn to read and interpret schematics and technical diagrams for system troubleshooting
- Support the assembly and disassembly of mechanical components using hand tools and power tools
- Help with system inspections to identify issues related to heating, cooling, ventilation, or plumbing components
- Participate in routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning filters, checking refrigerant levels, and testing electrical connections
- Gain experience in welding and boiler system work under supervision
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members
- Document work performed accurately for service records and future reference
Skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge with an interest in HVAC systems and building maintenance
- Familiarity with plumbing, welding, boiler operation, or appliance repair is advantageous
- Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams related to HVAC or mechanical systems
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork and learning from experienced technicians
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting heavy equipment or parts and working in confined spaces
- Eagerness to learn new skills within the construction and maintenance trades
