As our team expands, we are looking for motivated Route Sales Managers to operate and grow established distribution routes while helping us identify new opportunities throughout Ontario.
Position Overview
The Route Sales Manager is responsible for managing an assigned sales and distribution route, ensuring stores remain properly stocked, merchandised, and supported. This role combines customer service, merchandising, inventory management, sales development, and route operations.
The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, enjoys working independently, and is comfortable building relationships with retail decision makers.
Key ResponsibilitiesRoute Operations & Sales
- Service an assigned route of retail locations on a consistent weekly schedule
- Deliver inventory and maintain proper stock levels in stores
- Visit customers regularly to review inventory needs and place replenishment orders
- Enter and manage orders using the OTTO ordering system
- Identify opportunities to increase product placements and grow category sales across all brands
Merchandising & Retail Execution
- Merchandise products to company standards and retailer expectations
- Ensure displays, shelves, and product placements meet planogram requirements
- Rotate stock and monitor product freshness where applicable
- Build attractive displays to improve visibility and drive sales
Customer Relationship Management
- Develop strong relationships with store owners, managers, and staff
- Collaborate with retailers to maximize promotional opportunities and sales growth
- Provide excellent customer service and respond quickly to concerns or issues
Business Development
- Identify new retail opportunities and prospective accounts within assigned territories
- Pursue new business growth through cold outreach and relationship building
- Support company expansion initiatives across Ontario
- Earn additional incentives through successful acquisition of new accounts (where applicable)
Vehicle & Equipment Care
- Maintain company vehicle/truck cleanliness and organization
- Complete routine vehicle checks and report maintenance concerns promptly
- Operate equipment safely and comply with transportation and workplace safety standards
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have:
- Previous experience in route sales, merchandising, delivery, retail sales, or account management (asset but not required)
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Comfortable lifting products and performing physical work throughout the day
- Valid Ontario driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Basic technology skills and comfort learning ordering software systems
