Job Summary:
We currently have an open position for a Formulation Operator to join our team on the day shift (7:00 am – 3:30 pm). This role is responsible for the operation of equipment, such as, but not limited to, centrifugal and diaphragm pumps, mixers and scales, the unloading and loading of tankers and railcars into bulk tanks, formulating and blending material based on strict procedures and instructions and the use of RF scanners to record production and inventory
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of equipment such as centrifugal pumps, diaphragm pumps, mixers, scales, hoists, pressure washers etc.
- Unload tankers and railcars into bulk tanks
- Load out tankers
- Read and understand SDS sheets to ensure proper PPE is utilized
- Follow strict blending instructions and procedures to ensure safe & accurate formulating
- Document batch records
- Use RF scanners to record production and inventory
- Perform quality inspections as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized formulation area
- Understand and troubleshoot equipment
- Participate in daily huddle meetings
- Other related duties as required or assigned
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and the training provided
- Basic math, communication & problem-solving skills
- Experience with on the floor production line large batch formulation considered an asset
- TDG & Forklift Training considered an asset
- Experience handling chemicals considered an asset
Working Conditions:
- Manual dexterity to work with tankers, pumps and other associated equipment
- Overtime as required
- Requirement to work both inside and outside in all conditions
- Able to identify any health and safety issues
- Must be able to work intermittent afternoon shifts for holiday coverage
