Job Summary
A 79 year old woman with dementia requires primarily 24 hr caregivers. She has spent the past month in the hospital, and so initially needs assistance with all activities of daily living.
Daily household chores, laundry and preparing three nutritious meals for her and her husband. They thrive in their own home near the Swartz Bay ferry terminal, and enjoy sharing their home with two indoor cats.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning and preparation
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing to maintain a clean living space
- Support with mobility and transfer assistance as needed
- Administer medication reminders and monitor health conditions as directed by family or healthcare professionals
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and reporting any concerns promptly
Skills
- Experience or ability in cooking nutritious meals
- Compassionate caregiving skills and experience working with individuals with dementia
- Strong cleaning skills to maintain a hygienic living environment
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients with cognitive impairment
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
Requirements
- Criminal record check
- Negative TB test
- Willingness to get most recent Covid booster and yearly flu shot
- Two recent references.
Training and ongoing support will be provided.
Pay: From $375.00 per day
