Role Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for Project Execution, Change Management and carrying out the duties required for the day-to-day operations of projects. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring project schedules and budgets are developed, reviewed and reported to the Project Team. In addition, the Project Manager is responsible for the administration of contracts and subcontracts and to ensure they are done efficiently and effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a portfolio of projects of varying sizes and complexity from project initiation to project close out.
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with the client/owner and other stakeholders;
- Coordinate, prepare and distribute detailed project schedules in conjunction with the Project Scheduler. Review same with critical sub-trades, obtain input, and update the schedule as required. Monitor progress on a daily and weekly basis and record actual data.
- Coordinate, prepare and distribute project cost tracking.
- Attend site meetings with owner and consultants. Prepare and distribute minutes of these meetings.
- Assist in the administration of established client contract processes for Revisions, Requests, Instructions, Change Orders and Non-Conformance Reports.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly forecasting for projects.
- Assist in the administration and preparation of bid documents.
- Engage subcontractors for competitive pricing during bid preparation.
- Assist site Foremen in the ordering and tracking of material delivery dates.
- Promote the company environmental health and safety programs at the project level.
- Ensure proper site procedures are set up and maintained. In particular, site meetings, schedule. and unit cost reporting requirements and formats.
- Ensure owners’ and consultants’ instructions are distributed, met, and carried out. Update plans and specifications with all revisions and information.
- Manage sub-trade performance, problems on the project, and contractual disputes and issues.
- Ensure proper maintenance of all project files, records, drawings, and specifications.
- Process time sheets, daily work orders, and time and material sheets as required.
- Organize QC/QA procedures and inspections and prepare and distribute a deficiency list. Coordinate deficiency corrections and inspections, and document as required.
- Utilize strong written and oral communication skills, ability to organize project reports, computer skills, knowledge of estimating and site practices and procedures, and general interpersonal skills ensuring that assigned projects run smoothly and efficiently.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.Sc. Engineering, with P.Eng designation with APEGA preferred; Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology diploma with a minimum of 5 years relevant progressive experience;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering and construction for Utility power system type projects.
- Minimum of 3 years Project Management/Project Coordinator or other relevant project lead experience.
- Computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Demonstrated ability in Project Scheduling including use of computer programs such as Primavera or Microsoft Project
- Entrepreneurial approach and the ability to take on challenges in a changing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives.
- Proficiency with computer systems and applications including the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments with tight timelines.
- Self-motivated, positive attitude, strong client focus and results driven.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with internal and external customers, stakeholders and co-workers.
- Excellent organizational skills that demonstrates the ability to resolve conflicting priorities.

- Willing to travel from time to time for site audits and inspections.
