Role
Jr. Project Managers are expected to work with the whole Norcon team, playing an essential role within the company. Starting with communication and planning, to assisting with all job and overhead cost management and tracking, while always having the importance of safety on their mind. Jr. Project Managers must be driven and motivated team players that are willing to work in a fast paced, high energy, team atmosphere workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the hiring and management of field staff.
- Reviewing daily timecards, ensuring all employee and equipment hours are captured.
- Assisting supervisors as needed with data entry of daily hours and costs.
- Processing daily LEMs and daily reports accordingly.
- Managing subcontractors and completing material orders.
- Reviewing and approving all subcontractor and material billing.
- Creating purchase orders as needed.
- Reviewing accounts payable invoices and matching to appropriate purchase orders.
- Assist in the quality management program.
- Understanding and developing budgets, cost reports, and revenue forecasts.
- Staying on top of change management; including identification of change, creation/execution of estimates and change order requests.
- Building progress claims for invoicing according to the terms of the contract.
- Assisting with the creation of accounts receivable invoices.
- Developing and maintaining a project schedule.
- Ensuring the quality management system is followed; compiling and monitoring ITP, progressive turnover, re-work tracking and project closeout.
- Leading by example with the corporate health and safety program; reviewing safety documentation, monitoring, and reporting both internally and on the client level.
- Tracking inventory of safety and office supplies, re-ordering as needed
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree from a recognized engineering/project management program or equivalent is an asset.
- Experience in Civil and Forestry is an asset
- Ability to travel across Alberta, spending time on site with the rest of the time working in the Edmonton head office.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
