JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Mudder, Taper, Painter
LOCATION: Cambridge Bay, Nunavut
START DATE: Immediately
We are a growing company looking for an organized and detail-oriented candidate to fill an opening we currently have for a mudder, taper, painter. This is a FULL TIME position ideally suited for an experienced individual that enjoys working with their hands
This person will be responsible for the safe and efficient mudding, taping & painting projects. They will also ensure that accurate and timely information regarding supplies, tools and time are provided and recorded as required.
The mudder, taper, painter is required to:
- operate as a team member in a cross cultural work environment.
- follows all required safety procedures.
- complete projects requiring the drywall to be taped and mudded, primed and painted, for renovations and new construction.
Skills & Knowledge:
· Determine specifications and calculate supplies requirements
· Prepare the workspace and protect the things in the room from getting mud or paint on them.
· Painting
· A good understanding and use of all tools required, ex// Types of paint finishes, appropriate rollers for the application, etc.
· Great organizational and communication skills.
· The ability to multi-task stay focused and remain detail oriented.
· The ability to set work goals work independently and with a team to achieve
· An appropriate level of physical fitness to complete required work load
· Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs
· Valid driver’s license.
· Current first aid certificate (standard or emergency).
Experience:
- 3-5 years experience in the construction/renovations of residential housing.
- 2 years experience in Northern Construction
The successful candidate will be expected to work 10-12 hour shifts while on site, on a rotational basis. Occupational Health and Safety is of major importance and all personnel are required to follow good work practices, completing tasks in a safe and orderly manner.
