Service Technician

Quantum Lift Corp is an automotive/equipment lift company that provides new and used hoist/lift sales, installations, inspections, service, and training. Our client base ranges beyond the automotive sector, including modular home builders, oil sands technology, and municipal light rail service.
Job Description:
Installations
Installations of light/heavy duty 2 post, 4 post, scissor, platform, in-ground scissor, wheel engaging mobile units equipment on customer site locations. Operation of fork truck equipment ( 10k counter balance & telehandler) Operation of rotary hammer drill / concrete coring machine, aerial platform operation. Making hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical connections. Interpreting engineer drawings to ensure correct placement of lifting systems. Loading/unloading equipment from trucks & trailers. Disassembly of existing customer lift equipment. Use of various power and hand tools. Cooperating with other trades / contractors on all projects to ensure proper steps are followed.
Inspections
Perform inspections on all classifications of automotive lift equipment on location. Partial disassembly of lift components, physical access to below grade (small spaces) containments/pits, and elevated cross members & festoon railings using ladders/aerial platform where applicable. Use of infrared camera, multimeter, torque wrench, tape measure, vernier caliper. Determining pass/fail aspects of lift equipment in accordance with ANSI-ALI ALOIM standard, paired with Quantum Lift Corp inspection procedure. Inspection documentation is performed electronically, via use of smart phone, tablet, laptop.
REPAIR/SERVICE
Based on inspection findings, remove and replace worn, defective, or damaged parts and structure components of lift equipment. Use of power and hand tools, diagnostic equipment. Fork truck, aerial platform, mechanical hoist equipment operation. Fault finding procedures on electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. Testing of lift systems using Quantum Lift trouble shooting procedures. Providing up to date information to the lift owner pertaining to repairs, lubrication, adjustments, parts on order and lead times for completion of repairs. Quantum Lift Corp serves the western & central Canadian region, and the successful applicant will be required to travel and perform services based on client needs of installation, inspection, and service.
Administration
Maintain accurate documentation, work-order processes, parts orders, inventory on service vehicle, inspection records, daily work reports.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of low/high pressure hydraulic drive technology, practical ability to troubleshoot issues, safely remove and replace fittings, valves, cylinders, hoses, actuators, pumps.
Knowledge of low/high pressure pneumatic technology/automation, practical ability to troubleshoot issues, safely remove and replace fittings, valves, cylinders, hoses, regulators, actuators.
Knowledge of low voltage electrical power, and systems. 24v experience, plc inputs, 12v battery, pcb board, solenoids/coils, ability to solder, terminate wiring. Practical knowledge of multimeter for installation, inspection, troubleshooting purposes.
Fork truck / telehandler / skid steer / aerial platform experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High School Diploma
Class 5 license / clean drivers abstract requested upon hiring
Working knowledge of information and communications technology
Ability to perform duties individually, and as part of a team
