Salius Rehab Inc. is seeking a motivated and compassionate Rehabilitation Assistant (RA) to provide rehabilitation support services to private clients in their homes and community settings. Working under the direction of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, the Rehabilitation Assistant will assist clients in achieving their mobility, functional, strength, balance, and independence goals through individualized treatment programs.
This is a casual/flexible position with hours based on client referrals and service needs. The number of hours may vary from week to week depending on client volume, scheduling requirements, and geographic location.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement treatment programs developed by Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
- Assist clients with therapeutic exercises, mobility training, balance activities, and functional rehabilitation programs.
- Monitor client performance and report progress, concerns, or changes in status to the supervising therapist.
- Document treatment sessions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Educate clients and caregivers on prescribed exercise programs and rehabilitation strategies.
- Assist with equipment setup, adjustments, and training as directed by the supervising therapist.
- Maintain professional communication with clients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Adhere to privacy, confidentiality, and professional practice standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant, Occupational Therapist Assistant/Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA/PTA), Kinesiology, or related healthcare program.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Valid BC Driver's License and reliable vehicle required.
- Ability to travel between client locations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Experience working with older adults, neurological conditions, orthopedic rehabilitation, or community-based clients is considered an asset.
Preferred Experience
- Home health or community rehabilitation experience.
- Experience working with seniors and individuals with complex medical needs.
- Familiarity with electronic documentation systems.
- Knowledge of safe transfer techniques and mobility equipment.
