ABOUT THE ROLE
We are a growing Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) company seeking a detail-oriented PCB Quality Control Technician to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting and verifying the quality of printed circuit board assemblies to ensure they meet our customers’ specifications and industry standards. You will work closely with our production and engineering teams to identify defects, drive continuous improvement, and uphold our commitment to quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform visual and functional inspection of PCB assemblies using microscopes, magnification tools, and AOI equipment
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, Gerber files, and customer specifications to verify assembly accuracy
- Identify and document soldering defects, component misalignment, missing parts, and workmanship issues per IPC-A-610 standards
- Conduct in-process and final inspection at various stages of the SMT and through-hole assembly process
- Record and track inspection data using QC logs, NCR reports, and ERP/MES systems
- Communicate defect findings to production and engineering teams and support root cause analysis (RCA)
- Assist with first-article inspections and new product introduction (NPI) builds
- Support audit readiness and maintain documentation in compliance with ISO 9001 and customer quality requirements
- Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce defect rates and improve first-pass yield
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- 2–5 years of experience in PCB or electronics assembly quality control within a contract manufacturing or electronics production environment
- Solid knowledge of IPC-A-610 inspection standards (CIS or CIT certification preferred)
- Experience using inspection equipment such as microscopes, calipers, and AOI systems
- Ability to read and interpret PCB assembly drawings, BOMs, and work orders
- Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with ERP or MES systems
Preferred:
- IPC-A-610 CIS or CIT certification
- Experience with SMT, BGA, and through-hole technologies
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems
- Background in failure analysis or yield improvement initiatives

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
