NORTH VANCOUVER, BC - Located on North Vancouver’s vibrant waterfront, Seaside Hotel is a boutique hotel offering exceptional guest experiences in a modern and welcoming environment.
As a Guest Services Agent, you will be one of the first and last points of contact for our guests and play an important role throughout their stay. You will welcome and register guests, assist with room assignments and special requests, provide recommendations and reservations for local attractions, and help ensure a pleasant stay and smooth checkout.
This is a part-time position. This position is primarily scheduled on Thursdays through Sundays, with shifts typically 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM or 4:30 PM – 11:00 PM. Availability for these days and shift times is required. Occasional additional or alternate weekday shifts may be scheduled based on operational requirements.
Job Duties Include:
- Be an ambassador of the Seaside Hotel and Executive Hotel & Resorts brands
- Registers arriving guests and assigns rooms.
- Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments.
- Promote the property in your interactions and possess a sound knowledge of attractions, nightlife, and special services of the surrounding area to enhance the stay of our guests
- Knows room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates.
- Must possess fluent knowledge of the city and geography, keeping abreast of arts & entertainment and local trends, building relationships with local restaurants & tourist attractions
- Maintain and update the hotel's database of Concierge related directories on an ongoing basis
- Know daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel.
- Addressing and resolving guest concerns in a timely manner escalating issues to the Manager on Duty when you are unable to do so
- Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to Management and Supervisors
- Maintain a good working relationship and communication amongst all colleagues and departments
- Processes guest check-outs and handles monetary transactions
- Assist Valet Team with retrieving and parking guest vehicles
- Escort guests to their rooms on arrival and assist with their luggage
- Maintains customers’ privacy and security at all times.
- Maintains a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a Concierge role within a luxury property is a distinct advantage.
- Previous hotel-related experience, PMS knowledge preferred.
- Ability to communicate with public, hotel staff, and management in a professional manner.
- Knowledge of surrounding areas and local events.
- Class 5 BC Driver's License.
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Ability to understand and adhere to proper credit, debit, check, and cash handling policies and procedures. Able to properly secure guest information
