We are two well-established, patient-focused dental practices in Peterborough — Lansdowne Place Dental and Cornerstone Family Dentistry — seeking a full-time Registered Dental Hygienist to join our growing clinical team. Schedule
- Full-time, approximately 32–40 hours per week
- Hours split between both Peterborough locations (schedule discussed at interview)
- Weekday daytime and select evening shifts with added bonus structure
- Optional Saturday availability — flexible, based on hygienist preference
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive dental hygiene care, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including orthodontic treatments and other specialized services
- Conduct thorough periodontal assessments and document findings accurately
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using Open Dental
- Uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient safety in accordance with IPAC, CDHO, and RCDSO guidelines
- Manage patient questions and concerns with professionalism and excellent customer service
- Collaborate with dentists, assistants, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care
Qualifications
Required
- Registered Dental Hygienist license in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO)
- Current professional liability insurance
- Current CPR certification
- Proficiency with Open Dental or similar dental practice management software
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to patient-centered care and professional growth
Preferred
- Minimum two (2) years of clinical hygiene experience preferred — new graduates also welcome to apply
- Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry procedures
- Experience with periodontal therapy and recall program management
- Local self-initiation authorization (asset, not required)
