SFU is currently undertaking a significant transformation in its varsity sport model. Beginning in the 2027-28 season, SFU will transition to compete in Canada West within U SPORTS, aligning the university with the Canadian inter-university sport system. This transition represents an important strategic shift, strengthening regional rivalries, enhancing student-athlete experience, and positioning SFU for long-term success within the national landscape.
About the Role
The Manager, Sports Medicine manages the day to day operations of the SFU Sports Medicine Clinic. The Manager participates in and provides recommendations for departmental and unit strategic planning, develops unit policies and procedures, and creates performance development plans for direct reports. The Manager administers the operating budget, coordinates the clinic schedule, monitors safety standards and ensures the clinic is well equipped with supplies and equipment.
As a member and supervisor of a multi-disciplinary team, the manager facilitates ongoing communication and collaboration and provides services to student-athletes focusing on holistic wellness, general athletic training care and quality improvement. The Manager, provides primary care to a caseload of student athletes as well as travels with sports teams. Provides clinical leadership to student-athlete health issues that would affect the varsity athlete community
