Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming payments, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records using various accounting software. This role requires strong data entry skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to analyze financial data effectively. The Accounts Receivable Clerk plays a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy of our financial transactions and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Order creating, invoicing and process / record incoming payments using accounting software, electronically submitting invoices, currently we use Axon
- Manage accounts receivable ledger, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies through effective communication and negotiation
- Monitor accounts to identify overdue accounts and escalate issues as necessary
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and update customer information regularly
- Collaborate with the accounts payable team to ensure proper account management
- Conduct regular account reconciliation to verify accuracy of financial data
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries related to billing and payments via phone or email
- Assist with bookkeeping tasks and support month-end closing processes
- Generate reports on aging receivables and other relevant financial metrics for management review
Qualifications
- Proven experience with accounting software - Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong knowledge of accounts receivable processes, bookkeeping, and general accounting principles
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Effective negotiation skills to resolve payment issues with customers
- Analytical skills to interpret financial data and perform account analysis
- Proficiency in math and basic accounting calculations
- Exceptional phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Ability to perform account reconciliation accurately and efficiently
- Prior experience in financial services or related fields is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
