About the Position:
The Senior Gas Detection Technician is responsible for delivering expert-level support in the sales, service, and maintenance of gas detection systems across client sites. This role involves diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, performing precise calibration and testing of equipment, and ensuring all systems operate safely and in compliance with industry standards. As a senior team member, the technician also provides mentorship and guidance to junior staff while maintaining accurate service records and fostering strong client relationships through professional, reliable service.
Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site sales, service, and calibration of gas detection systems
- Conduct system diagnostics to identify performance issues and faults
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems with gas detection equipment
- Test, inspect, and calibrate gas detection devices to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Provide training, mentorship, and technical guidance to junior technicians
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of service activities, findings, and repairs
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards and company procedures
Qualifications:
· Extensive experience in gas detection system sales, service, and calibrations
· Strong knowledge of fixed gas detection equipment including manufacturers equipment such as Honeywell, Armstrong, QEL, Belimo, Airtest, CET, Greystone, Senva etc.
· Proficiency in conducting system diagnostics and troubleshooting
· Ability to test and calibrate gas detection equipment
· Experience in providing training and guidance to junior technicians
· Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
· Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation
· Ability to work independently and remotely
· Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed
Other:
· Must be able to commute to our location (7704-71 Street, Edmonton, Alberta) & various client sites to complete work
