Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Certified Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and a passion for promoting oral health. The Certified Dental Hygienist will be responsible for providing comprehensive dental hygiene services, assisting in maintaining optimal oral health for our diverse patient base, and supporting the overall operations of the dental office.
Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies.
- Assist with patient examinations by recording medical histories and vital signs.
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to ensure smooth clinic operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments in electronic health records using Dentrix or similar software.
- Support pediatric patients by providing gentle care tailored to their needs.
- Assist in orthodontic procedures or other specialized treatments if qualified.
- Bilingual communication skills are a plus to better serve our diverse community.
Experience
- Valid certification as a Dental Hygienist from an accredited program is required.
- Prior experience working in a dental office setting is preferred, especially with pediatric or orthodontic patients.
- Proficiency with Dentrix or similar dental practice management software is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
- Previous experience in dental assisting, pediatrics, or customer service roles is advantageous but not mandatory.
