Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Person/Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role involves maintaining and repairing a variety of facilities, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and aesthetic standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, with experience in facilities maintenance across residential and industrial environments. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, from plumbing and electrical repairs to painting and equipment troubleshooting, supporting the overall functionality of our facilities.
Duties
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, machinery, and equipment
- Repair and troubleshoot electrical systems, including wiring, switches and outlets
- Conduct welding repairs and fabrication as needed for structural or equipment support
- Maintain plumbing systems and perform residential painting tasks when required
- Read schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and power tools
- Supervise or assist with projects involving facilities upgrades or renovations
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all maintenance activities
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing facility concerns promptly and professionally
- Maintain records of maintenance
Experience
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or related fields such as manufacturing or residential repair
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical wiring, schematics, and troubleshooting techniques
- Hands-on experience with wood working, welding, electrical work, and residential repairs preferred
- Supervisory or leadership experience is a plus for roles involving team coordination
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with customer service skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical diagrams accurately
- Proficiency in using testing tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment
This position requires a versatile individual capable of handling diverse maintenance tasks efficiently while maintaining high safety standards. Candidates should demonstrate strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to facility upkeep.
The position is remote. You will live and work in Coal River BC. Food, Wifi, room and board included . The position is 6 days on 1 day off.
The position is not limited to repairs and up keep. One day you might be pumping fuel, the next you might be cutting grass. The start date is ASAP.
