Part-Time Shift Leader at Boketto Dessert Café – Vancouver
Shifts
- Mon–Thu: 12–5 PM, 2–10 PM, or 5–10 PM
- Fri–Sun: 10 AM–6 PM, 3–11 PM, or 6–11 PM
- (Closed Mondays in fall and winter)
- Shifts will be primarily closing shifts, with some opening shifts
- Must be available to work holidays, weekdays, and weekends
- Must be available to work a minimum of 3 shifts a week
What You'll Do
- Lead the team on shift and keep everyone on task throughout service
- Hold the team accountable to our drink recipes, presentation, and customer service standards
- Run a complete, by-the-book close: cleaning, sanitation, restocking, and cash handling
- Keep the front bar fully stocked throughout the shift — not just at the end — and set the next shift up to succeed
- Make sure every team member takes their breaks on time and in full
- Maintain sanitation, food safety, and hygiene standards across the bar, prep areas, dish washing station, restrooms, and dining space
- Coach teammates in the moment, kindly and clearly, when something is off-recipe or off-standard
- Open the cafe on assigned shifts: bar setup, daily prep, and getting the team ready for service
- Communicate clearly with the Assistant Manager and Owner about what happened on shift and what needs attention
- Make drinks, desserts, and small menu items as needed
- Support with training new team members
- Adapt quickly to seasonal menu changes and learn new recipes or preparation methods as needed
What We're Looking For
- Prior shift lead or supervisor experience (cafe/restaurant preferred)
- Minimum 1–2 years of food industry experience
- Responsible and able to keep the team on track during your shift
- Comfortable holding peers accountable to high standards and customer service levels
- High school diploma required
- Demonstrated latte art skills
- Positive, team-first attitude
- Reliable and ready to commit long-term
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Food Safe Level 1
