Job Summary: :
As an intermediate Engineer, you will lead technical projects and deliver innovative, code-compliant, and sustainable solutions for building envelopes and energy performance challenges. In this role, you will contribute to the firm’s reputation for technical excellence, client satisfaction, and industry leadership.
Key Responsibilities: :
Technical Leadership
- Serve as the Engineer of Record (EoR) for company projects.
- Lead or support building envelope investigations, assessments, and design projects.
- Oversee forensic investigations of building failures, including water ingress, air leakage, and material degradation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices; communicate updates and support team training.
- Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, EITs, and other technical staff.
Project Management & Delivery
- Support Project Managers in delivering projects from initiation through completion.
- Oversee site inspections, field testing, client meetings, and construction coordination activities.
- Deliver projects tasks on schedule, meeting established quality standards and appropriate resourcing.
- Provide technical team members with the necessary training and tools to effectively complete assigned project tasks.
Team Development
- Support technical training, competency development, and career growth within the team.
- Review and approve work completed by junior staff in accordance with QA/QC standards.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and R&D initiatives.
Quality Assurance and Risk Management
- Maintain and support QA/QC processes and technical standards.
- Assist in identifying and mitigating technical and contractual risks.
Safety
- Champion a strong safety culture across all assigned projects.
Business Development & Strategy
- Support proposal development, fee estimates, and client presentations.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with company strategy.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and professional associations.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Building Science, Building Envelope Engineering, or related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia; EGBC registration required.
- 5-10 years of experience in building science and building envelope consulting.
- At least 2 years of acting as an Engineer of Record (EoR) role.
- Strong knowledge of building science, materials, and construction practices.
- Effective communication, organizational, and client management skills.

In compliance with the B.C. Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range for this position is between $85,000 - $115,000*.
- Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.
