Position:
We are currently looking for a full-time General Labourer with skid steer experience to join our team. This role is primarily hands-on site support, with skid steer operation as a regular part of the work. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable operating equipment while also contributing to general construction tasks under the direction of the Crew Lead, Foreman, or Site Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a skid steer safely and efficiently for material handling, site prep, grading, and related tasks
- Assist with general on-site construction tasks including excavation, material handling, and cleanup
- Operate hand and power tools (e.g., jackhammer, concrete cutter) safely under supervision
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on assigned equipment
- Follow all safety protocols, company procedures, and site rules
- Support the crew by preparing work areas and ensuring materials and equipment are ready for use
- Maintain site cleanliness, organization, and a professional work environment
- Report safety hazards, equipment issues, or other concerns to the Crew Lead or Supervisor
- Record and communicate work progress as required by supervisors
- Utilize SiteDocs for safety documentation and training compliance
- Enter work hours and related information into QBO Workforce
Experience & Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience operating a skid steer (certification from a recognized training program is an asset)
- Knowledge of construction site safety practices and protocols
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and on different types of terrain
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Willingness and ability to work out of town
- Must pass drug and alcohol testing
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- SCOT/CSTS (Safety Construction Orientation / Construction Safety Training System)
- CODC Rights & Responsibility
- CSA-approved steel-toed boots
- Working smartphone or tablet for work-related apps (e.g., SiteDocs, QBO Workforce)
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
