Position Summary:
We are currently seeking an experienced Truck & Coach Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on a fleet of highway trucks, trailers, and company vehicles. Heavy equipment mechanical experience is considered a strong asset, especially in a mine or industrial environment.
This position requires a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and coach vehicles
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled servicing
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and driveline components
- Complete safety inspections and ensure equipment meets regulatory standards
- Perform road calls and breakdown repairs when required
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and inspection documentation
- Operate shop tools and diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently
- Work closely with supervisors and operators to ensure equipment uptime
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Valid 310T Truck and Coach Mechanic License (preferred)
- Apprentices with relevant experience may be considered
- Minimum 3–5 years experience working on heavy-duty trucks and trailers (preferred)
- Strong understanding of diesel engines and drivetrain systems
- Experience with air brake systems, electrical troubleshooting, and hydraulics
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license required (DZ/AZ considered an asset)
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- Must follow all company and site safety policiesAssets (Preferred Experience):
- Heavy equipment experience (loaders, dozers, excavators, haul trucks, etc.)
- Mine site or industrial maintenance experience
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Experience with fleet maintenance programs and service tracking systems
Working Conditions:
- Shop and/or mine site environment
- Exposure to outdoor conditions depending on job site
- Lifting, bending, standing for extended periods
- Shift work may be required (days/nights/weekends)
Pay: $50.00-$60.00 per hour
