The Team
The Violation Ticket Centre is a well-established team responsible for the administrative functions associated with processing violation ticket disputes from court locations across the province. The team consists of 22 staff members who are organized into four sub-teams, each responsible for supporting a different region. Working closely with court registries, enforcement agencies, ICBC, and the Judiciary, the Violation Ticket Centre serves as a centralized point of contact for court users while helping to streamline the administration of violation ticket disputes across the Province.
The Role
As a Registry Clerk at the Violation Ticket Centre, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient, timely, and accessible court services. Your responsibilities will include data entry from certified extracts, establishing court files, scheduling hearing dates for the province, producing the Notice of Hearing and through collaboration with the Judiciary, processing VT Statements, Written Reasons, Applications for Adjournments and Affidavits (over 30 days). The Violation Ticket Centre also serves as a central call centre for the public, enforcement agencies, ICBC and Court Services Branch to address inquiries regarding violation tickets and hearing scheduling. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary School graduation or equivalent (e.g. GED).
- Must have 1 year experience working in an office environment OR 1 year combination of customer service, clerical duties, office experience and education.
- Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in keyboarding, data entry, word processing and standard computer applications and software programs (e.g. Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must possess a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
Preference may be given to candidates with:
- Experience in Court Programs and Applications (such as JUSTIN, GARMS, CEIS & ARC).
- Experience with delivering Customer Service.
Provisos
- Union membership is required.
- Attendance and completion of relevant training is required.
- May be required to work flexible hours, including varied shifts and overtime on short notice.
- Able to lift heavy objects up to (30 lbs).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- May be required to travel, including travel in adverse weather conditions and work in other geographical areas, including court locations. Must have reliable access to transportation and/or be willing to travel with others.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established for future temporary and permanent opportunities in the Violation Ticket Centre and the Robson Square Provincial Court.
