Being a Production Engineer with us means playing a key role in improving productivity, supporting new product development, and implementing innovative technologies. You will contribute directly to the performance of our manufacturing operations while collaborating with production, quality, health and safety, purchasing, and engineering teams.
As a Production Engineer, you will leverage your manufacturing expertise to optimize processes, lead improvement projects, and support the implementation of state-of-the-art equipment. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate on multi-site projects across Innovair Solutions.
On a daily basis, you will:
- Diagnose manufacturing, layout, or work method issues and recommend sustainable improvement solutions;
- Analyze, optimize, and develop manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and safety;
- Participate in the acquisition of new equipment and technologies, including feasibility studies, ROI analyses, specifications development, and capacity assessments;
- Meet and collaborate with suppliers and equipment manufacturers to identify the best technical solutions for the organization;
- Lead automation, equipment improvement, and production cell layout projects from initial analysis through commissioning;
- Actively participate in continuous improvement projects and facilitate Kaizen, SMED, Ishikawa, 6S, and other Lean initiatives;
- Contribute to new product development by defining optimal manufacturing strategies;
- Improve the reliability of production equipment, tools, and components;
- Act as a technical advisor to production teams on manufacturing processes and performance improvement;
- Participate in strategic manufacturing projects that may involve multiple Innovair production sites;
- Collaborate with international partners, suppliers, and equipment manufacturers on large-scale projects;
- Promote best practices in occupational health and safety and act as a change agent within the organization;
- Foster effective communication between departments.
You are the person we are looking for if you have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automated Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field;
- A minimum of 6 to 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment;
- Significant experience in process improvement, automation, and manufacturing project management;
- Solid expertise in metal transformation processes, including:
- Mechanical press stamping (die forming);
- Punching;
- Bending;
- Roll Forming;
- Machining and cutting of aluminum extrusions;
- Excellent knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes;
- Experience using SolidWorks CAD software;
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing analysis tools (OEE, machine capacity, process variation, ROI, etc.);
- Knowledge of automation systems (an asset);
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (an asset);
- Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (an asset);
- The ability to communicate effectively in both French and English, verbally and in writing, to interact with various stakeholders, including international suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and business partners;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
- A creative, innovative mindset focused on continuous improvement;
- Strong communication and collaboration skills;
- Excellent autonomy, judgment, and organizational abilities;
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
