About the Position
As a Kitchen Hood Cleaning Technician, you'll work with a lead technician to clean commercial kitchen exhaust systems, including hoods, filters, ductwork, fans, and fan bowls. You'll use pressure washing equipment, specialized cleaning products, and a variety of tools to ensure our customers' systems meet cleanliness and safety standards.
This is active, hands-on work that requires working at heights, climbing ladders, and accessing rooftops. Every day is a little different, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys physical work and doesn't like sitting behind a desk.
Schedule
Our kitchen division operates on a rotating schedule most of the time:
- Two weeks of day shifts (Monday to Friday)
- Two weeks of night shifts (Sunday to Thursday)
Because of the nature of our industry, workloads can vary throughout the year. During slower periods in the kitchen division, we do our best to provide employees with work in our other service divisions whenever possible.
Responsibilities
- Clean commercial kitchen exhaust systems, including hoods, filters, ductwork, fans, and fan bowls
- Safely operate pressure washers and specialized cleaning equipment
- Use hand tools and power tools as required
- Work safely on ladders and rooftops while following all company safety procedures
- Perform routine care and upkeep of equipment and keep the assigned service vehicle clean and organized
- Complete work efficiently while maintaining our high standards of quality
- Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers
- Follow all health and safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Commercial cleaning, pressure washing, custodial, or related experience is considered an asset, but we are willing to train the right person
- Comfortable performing physically demanding work in all weather conditions
- Comfortable working at heights and climbing ladders
- Able to lift heavy equipment and work on your feet throughout the shift
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
- Reliable, dependable, and punctual
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Valid Class 5 driver's license - must have full license
- Your own vehicle for transportation to and from our shop
