You'll Be Responsible For:
Responsible for assuring the assessment, management and mitigation of risk in accordance with regulation and business standards.
Drives change through communication, persuasion, engagement and innovation.
Supports the integration of the Operational HSW job family into an efficient, effective and cohesive team.
Monitors and report on performance, provide advice, guidance and expertise as needed.
Translates business strategy and objectives into local business plan/s.
Collaborates with operational directors to deliver cost effective and efficient performance.
Develops and delivers agreed local business plan/s to time, quality and budget.
Supporting succession planning and career development activities for team/s.
Collaborates with the assurance function in the pursuit of continuous improvement.
Engages and influences identified business and industry stakeholders.
Ensure timely and effective escalation of non-compliance issues they are unable to influence or achieve a satisfactory conclusion to.
Manages a large team of direct reports, driving the appropriate behaviours to achieve success & key performance indicators (KPIs), including a continuous improvement culture.
Provides performance management, technical & career development and coaching.
You’ll Need To Have:
Strong knowledge of HSW legislation, regulations, and sector-specific delivery.
Experience implementing and improving management systems, including certification processes.
Proven ability to develop and apply assurance and audit strategies.
Solid experience in risk management and mitigation within a large organization (enterprise and project level).
Ability to assess team competency, align resources effectively, and support development planning.
Skilled in presenting technical HSW information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Degree (or equivalent experience), with chartered membership and relevant HSW professional qualifications.
Note: The estimated salary for this position is 180,000 - 240,000 CAD. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.
