At Forest Grove Preschool, we believe in creating a warm, inclusive, and engaging environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to explore. We are currently seeking Supply Registered Early Childhood Educators & Supply Assistants to join our team on a casual/on-call basis.
Role Overview
As a Supply RECE & Supply Assistant, you will support classroom routines, support in program, and provide nurturing care to children ages 18 months to 6 years. You will be a positive role model, helping children build confidence, independence, and a love for learning, while ensuring their health, safety, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Care for and engage children 18 months to 6 years old, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of child development to support age-appropriate learning.
- Support with program planning and carry out activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, and growth.
- Provide clear instruction and guidance during activities, ensuring preparation and smooth execution.
- Engage in supportive and respectful interactions that help children feel a sense of security and belonging.
- Role model positive behaviour and encourage cooperative play and learning.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with staff, children, and parents.
- Work various shifts as needed, with a flexible and team-oriented attitude.
Position Requirements
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of ECEs.
- Experience working with children.
- Vulnerable Sector Check (current within 6 months).
- Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification.
- Food Handler Certificate (asset).
- Immunization & health assessment (up to date).
- Strong in both written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in English, with clear verbal communication and pronunciation, to ensure effective interaction with children, families, and staff.
