Job Summary
The Prevention Program Facilitator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering prevention-focused programming and educational supports for children, youth, and families in both group and virtual settings. This position focuses on promoting family wellness, parenting knowledge, life skills development, and healthy relationships through engaging workshops, activities, and community programming.
The Prevention Program Facilitator provides teachings and support related to parenting skills, cooking, budgeting, communication, emotional wellness, household management, and other life skills that strengthen families and support healthy home environments. The role also supports community engagement and culturally respectful programming that encourages participation, learning, and family connection.
Responsibilities
· Plan and facilitate prevention-based programming for children, youth, and families
· Deliver workshops and educational sessions in group and online virtual settings
· Provide teachings related to parenting skills, life skills, healthy relationships, communication, emotional wellness, cooking, budgeting, and household management
· Create safe, respectful, and inclusive group environments that encourage participation and learning
· Support families during programming and group activities
· Develop program schedules, activities, educational materials, and presentations
· Promote culturally relevant teachings, traditional values, and community engagement within programming
· Maintain attendance records, program documentation, and monthly reports
· Work collaboratively with Family Support Workers, community partners, Elders, and service providers
· Participate in team meetings, supervision, training, and program planning
· Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards at all times
· Perform other related duties as assigned by the Prevention Supervisor
Qualifications
· Diploma or certificate in Human Services, Education, Child and Youth Care, Community Support, Social Work, or related field preferred
· Relevant experience facilitating programs or working with children, youth, and families may be considered in lieu of formal education
· Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
· Experience delivering group or virtual programming considered an asset
· Knowledge of parenting supports, life skills programming, and community resources
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
· Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture, traditions, and family wellness approaches is considered an asset
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
· Clear Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Check required

WCTC CYFE is a Forward-Thinking Agency covering 2 First Nation Reserves in the area of Child Intervention and Prevention, delivering services to assist families in their respected communities.
