Position: Breakfast Cook
Job Type: Part-time (cross-training available).
Wage: $18-$19/ hour + Bonus.
Hours: (typically 5.5 hrs/ day. With opportunity of 8 hrs/day with cross training.
Cook shifts from 6:30am – 12:00pm Monday – Sunday.
Hochelaga Inn is known as Kingston's most recognizable bed and breakfast Historic Inn. We pride ourselves on the culinary creations served from our kitchen, and are looking for an experienced and passionate Cook to help support our team.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat to prepare meals.)
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
- Prepare meals during our dining hours
- Maintain accurate food inventories
- Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
- Rotate stock items as per established procedures
- Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts
- Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift
- Assist General Manager in menu planning and development
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required
- 1-2 years’ experience as a Cook in the restaurant industry
- Able to read and follow standardized recipes
- Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
- Able to work as part of a team
- Food Handling Certification required
- Available to work mornings, afternoons and evenings as scheduled
