We are seeking a skilled Log and Wood Rot Repair and Caulking Specialist to join our restoration and construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, repairing, and restoring wood structures affected by rot or damage, utilizing a variety of hand tools and construction techniques. This role requires attention to detail, technical proficiency, and the ability to work effectively within a team to ensure high-quality results in residential and commercial projects. The position offers an opportunity to develop expertise in restoration, carpentry, and construction painting while contributing to the preservation and enhancement of property structures.
Responsibilities
- Inspect wood structures for rot, damage, or deterioration using schematics and blueprints.
- Perform wood rot repairs by removing damaged material and applying appropriate restoration techniques.
- Use hand tools such as saws, chisels, drills, and caulking guns to execute repairs accurately.
- Apply caulking to seal gaps and prevent water intrusion, ensuring long-term protection of structures.
- Read blueprints and schematics to accurately follow project specifications for repairs and restorations.
- Conduct construction painting as needed to match existing finishes during restoration projects.
- Assist with plumbing or welding tasks if required for comprehensive repair solutions.
- Install flooring or tile as part of renovation projects when necessary.
- Maintain a clean work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with hand tools, carpentry, or restoration work preferred.
- Knowledge of construction practices, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction painting.
- Familiarity with caulking techniques and wood rot repair methods.
- Ability to perform plumbing or welding tasks is a plus but not required.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting, bending, and working at heights if necessary.
- Prior experience in flooring installation or tile laying is advantageous but not mandatory.
- A valid <PERSON> certification or relevant trade license is preferred but not essential. Pay: From $35.00 per hour
