Job Description
The Embedded Systems Developer will participate in the development and maintenance of industrial edge computing and IIoT systems. This role involves implementing functional specifications, developing and testing software components, and contributing to the reliability and scalability of deployed systems. The ideal candidate has a strong Linux and Python background, with experience working across embedded, industrial, and connected systems environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement functional specifications within industrial edge computing and IIoT platforms.
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot software components for embedded and Linux-based systems.
- Write and maintain unit tests to support software reliability and maintainability.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve software defects and system issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support integration, deployment, and ongoing improvement of products and services.
- Document software behavior, development procedures, and technical changes as required.
Qualifications
- Technologist, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with Linux and Python.
- Experience with embedded systems or edge computing devices.
- Familiarity with IIoT technologies and industrial communications.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Assets
- Industrial controls or SCADA experience.
- Web development experience.
- Experience with C or C++.
- Experience working with industrial protocols or automation systems.
