Work Location: Slave Lake, Alberta (Mitsue Industrial Park)
Work Rotation (if applicable): 4 days on, 3 days off
Work Days / Hours: 10-hour work days 7:00 am – 5:30 pm ½ hour unpaid lunch, two paid 15-minute breaks. Overtime may be required.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform maintenance and repair of heavy trucks and trailers.

Perform preventative and predictive maintenance.
-
Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to the manufacturer's specifications.

Maintain a clean and tidy personal work area and assist with general cleaning duties in a workshop environment.

Maintain a daily record of all work tasks and materials.
-
Support and encourage continuous improvement in work practices
-
Some out-of-hours work may be required for a call-out basis.

Perform related work as required.

Completing daily job hazard assessments.
-
Some light and medium-duty vehicle maintenance along with heavy equipment maintenance may be required.
Adhere to all Tiger policies and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, WORK EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
-
Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic.
-
Minimum of 3 years experience.
-
Valid driver’s license, Class 1 preferred.
-
Experience with TMT, Cummings Insight, J-Pro and various types of programs would be considered an asset.
-
The ability to perform CVIP would be considered an asset.
-
Experience with Cummins engines, hydraulic systems, product pumps, and trailers would be considered an asset.

Experience and considerable knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of various types of heavy equipment and other power-driven equipment and tools.

Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.

Skilled in the operation of a variety of tools and equipment used in the repair of trucks and heavy equipment.

Capable of preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports.

Ability to analyze and repair mechanical failures.

Has a collaborative communication style at all levels of the organization demonstrating an open, honest and consistent approach to working with others.
Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements including drug and alcohol and health assessment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK CONDITIONS

Lifting, pulling, climbing, standing, sitting, lying down, squatting and kneeling and managing equipment and tools.

Must work outside in all different weather conditions, including cold and extreme heat. Work is performed in a repair shop environment.
