Simulator Systems Intern / Co-op
Location: Kimberley, Ontario (On-site)
Compensation: $18-19/hour
Hours: 32–40 hours per week
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and technically minded Simulator Systems Intern / Co-op Student to support the day-to-day operation of our professional motorsport simulation facility.
This role combines hands-on technical support with event operations, including preparing simulators, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining equipment, and assisting with telemetry workflows used during driver coaching sessions.
A strong interest in motorsport, sim racing, or automotive technology is highly valued.
On-site accommodation is available for successful candidates relocating for the work term.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and operate racing simulators for customer sessions and events
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic networking issues
- Perform routine maintenance on simulator PCs and equipment
- Configure racing software and simulator sessions
- Prepare telemetry data for driver coaching and engineering review
- Monitor simulator sessions and resolve technical issues as they arise
- Assist customers with simulator setup and operation
- Support special events, leagues, and corporate bookings
- Help maintain simulator equipment and the facility
- Assist with maintaining backend server and network infrastructure
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related program
- Interest in motorsport, sim racing, or automotive technology
- Knowledge of PC hardware and Windows troubleshooting
- Experience with LAN networking
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Assets
- Experience with sim racing platforms
- Familiarity with motorsport telemetry or data analysis
- Familiarity with virtual machines and Linux
- Understanding of programming languages (Python)
